Well Well, Jacob Black. Just your typical, everyday, reservation-living, vampire-hating, big and furry werewolf. However, my friends, we are about to begin our jouney as we delve deeper and deeper into the fascinating mind of this ever-16-year-old boy.
Fasten your seatbelts were are now preparing for takeoff.
IN the words of Julie Andrews, let's start at the very beginning. A very good place to start :
Jacob Black is part of the old and loveable Quileuete Tribe. His father Billy Black is practically family to Bella and Charlie Swan, therefore making Jacob an automatic part of Bella's life. Jacob has been taught the history and the many legends of his tribe and knows the stories of the ones that they call The Cold Ones, or as he prefers to referance them as, "Bloodsuckers." These bloodsuckers of course, we all know and love as the Cullens. NOW, as Jacob grows older he starts to go through some not-quite normal changes for a sixteen-year-old boy. For example, I don't believe I know any boys that can change into a reddish-brown werewolf at will, belong to a pack who share their innermost secrets unwillingly, or that can heal at incredible speed. By the age of 16, Jacob's body had matured to adulthood, though he will never grow older.
All that aside, the most important change to the way Jacob lives his life is that he is now a werewolf. This means that it is now his job, along with his pack (Sam, Quil, Embry, Jared, Paul, Seth, and Leah- I think that is all of them) to protect their reservation lands and the people within them and make sure that the Treaty is honored. The treaty I speak of is the one that the Cullens made with the Quileuetes that says if they do not bite a human then they can coexist peacefully with the divider of the boundry line that separates Cullens (Forks) and Quileuetes (La Push). If the treaty is not honored, their fates will ultimatly end with war. It is, first and foremost, the nature of the werewolf to destroy the vampire.
Though these are all interesting, perhaps the biggest change for Jacob is that he realizes that he is in love with Bella Swan; the clumsy yet lovable mortal. THIS turns out to be a monumental problem in Jacob's life. You see, Bella and Edward (Cullen) are deeply entwined in their own relationship and will allow nothing to drive a wedge between them. Jacob, having declared his love to Bella, is crushed when he learns of Bella and Edward's engagement. His future is henceforth left to Stephenie Meyer and whatever kind of magic she dreams up for Breaking Dawn.

"We all know and love as the Cullens..." Au contraire, mon amie. I love DARN!!!!!!! (I bet that Erin still hasn't figured that out and never will.) Heh. But anyhoo! I suppose that my favorite Cullen would not be Bella or Edward. I like the mean girl. She sounds a lot like Snape... I shlove him. He is a nice character. My favorite.
