Ahhhh....fan fiction.

As mentioned before. I am spending my summer mostly reading fan fiction from the Twilight canon. I don't know if you people are as bored as I am, but I thought I would share the love and share my favorite sites and stories.

BUT! Before I do this, I thought that we should review our fan fiction vocabulary words:

In-Canon, or Canon: Stories that follow the plot line of the original text and do not go beyond what has been written. The world according to the original author

eg: CANNOT be things like "Edward Changes Bella Into A Vampire" or "Edward and Bella's Wedding Day" UNTIL those things ACTUALLY HAPPEN. However, they CAN be things such as missing moment, other characters point's of view, art, or really anything that is in the stories.

Alternate Universe (a.k.a. AU): fan fiction in which one key detail in the story has been changed to ultimatly change the entire outcome. These stories are non-canon.

eg: Bella loves Mike, Edward never comes back, etc.

Crossovers: When characters or the story line from another series or story are/is integrated in the one you are writing.

eg: Mr. Varner is actually Snape from Harry Potter and teaches Edward and Bella how to make potions instead of Trig and Calculas.

A.K.A.: Also Know As

AN or A/N: Author's Note

Angst: fanfic genre dealing primarily with themes of anxiety, guilt, remorse
(A lot of fan fiction from Edward's perspective is this genre.)

Beta: A draft. As a verb, it means to read such a draft and offer constructive criticism for improvement.

Beta Reader: Someone who betas another author's work. Often just refered to as a Beta.

Drabble: A piece of exactly 100 words, plus up to 15 words for a title.

OOC: Out of character.

One-Shot: I THINK that this means a fan fiction consisting of only one chapter, BUT don't take my word for that. It is only speculation and not fact.

Fandom: The series of which the fan fiction is based off of.

eg: Twilight, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, Etc.

And finally, we bring to you, The Amazing Alice Cullen!

Ah Alice.

Mary Alice Brandon, as she was known in her human life, has a vague history. It is known that her character was born in 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her human life was spent in an assylum because of her premonitions, that later intensified into visions in her vampire life. Similar to Bella (see earlier blog), Alice was the only other of Jame's victims that escaped. She was changed into a vampire by another of the kind that was working at the assylum that she was commited at. He did so to save her from the cruel death that James, the tracker, would have given her.

Alice's visions were, in a way, her saviors. Without them, it is likely she would have turned into a complete savage, seeing as the vampire who changed her fled as soon as the transformation was complete. Without her visions she would have never seen that she was destined to meet Dr. Carlisle Cullen (again, see earlier post) and Jasper (and again). However, Alice is limited with her gift. She can only see outcomes once a decision has been made.

Jasper Cullen is Alice's soul mate. They are the reason for each other's existance. They joined Carlisle's coven in the 1950's and have been there ever since, under the pretense that they are his children, though physically, Alice is 19 and is entirely to old to be and adopted child.
