And Finally, Rose Returns...

I have returned! And before Anna slaughters me with a pen (haha anna penphobia) I shall blog.

So. Werewolves. What more to say. We've covered quite a bit of notes on this.
(anna turned it purple! strategy my friend, strategy...) I must wonder what type of strategy this is. I mean really? Am I going to start quivering under my seat because you turned the text purple? Anyhow. Back to the real debate here.

Before I continue, I would like to point out something that Anna herself said. Please check our post, "Ze Longest Conversation Ever" and scroll down to the discussion on werewolves. Anna asks, "What's so great about werewolves anyway? All they've got are constant fevers and nasty tempers!" And no Anna, you can't delete the post, as it is the whole reason we started this blog.

Now to be proactive and keep Anna from poking wholes through my arguement, I replied, "I don't know. They saved Bella from Laurent????" And no, this is not defending werewolves, as it was Bella's own fault that she was in that position in the first place. "Ok, so they did one cool thing for her but "bloodsuckers" is too offensive. And he told about the motorcycles!" Anna notes. Which, my friends, is exactly what I was saying in my debate. So Anna, you see, I do believe I have the upper hand currently. You may have all your little thoughts on how Jacob completes her life, but you have yourself agreeing with me. And the best part? It's still on our blog for viewers to see, and if you delete it it makes you look like a cheater. Wasn't I so smart to look back on our archives? ;-)

Now I believe that this is all I truly need to say on the matter. I already covered the other reasons why I am anti-werewolf in this debate. Until we begin our mindless debating, I rest my case.

And so I return with a stonger rebuttal than ever!

In response to Erin's post I have these things to say (they are in chronological order parallel to her paragraphs in the post):

Um, excuse me, is New Moon not about how Jacob the werewolf helps Bella patch her life back together or am I just completely crazy? First of all, Edward DID NOT leave because of the werewolves. He left, however foolish his decision might have been, because he thought that it would be the best thing for Bella. Not because young werewolves were running rampant all over Forks! As for Jacob assisting Bella in doing dangerous things it was understandable AND acceptable! For one, he is just a normal teenage boy who knows no better - can we blame someone for something they are totally ignorant of - I think not. Two, if this were Emmett assisting Bella, no one would blame him, they would probably recruit Rosalie to help build the bikes, and it would be one big happy family that no one would think anything of. Three, Jacob is nearly the vampires equal in strength, he is smart enough to help Bella when she needs it, is a good teacher, and most importantly, has full-time access to a community of help! Dispute that Erin! By the way, Edward calls Jacob "dog", how is that different than Jacob calling Edward "bloodsucker" ?

The events that had potential to occur in Breaking Dawn DID NOT HAPPEN! Yes, they were going to go to the Cullen mansion with the idea to get rid of Bella/the Cullens, however the objectivity on Sam's and Jacob's part prevented this occurrence. Um, compassion anyone? Crisis avoided. They were able to think level-headedly and work out the situation with no one for the worse. Sure, imprinting can hurt, but think how many more people have been affected in a positive way. Emily, though disfigured, has never been more in love. Claire, the two-year-old could never have asked for better protection or love. And Renesmee is lucky enough to be able to spend all of eternity with the one she loves.

The people of Forks are really only scared of the idea something dangerous lurking in the shadows. And anyway, the thing that they were scared of turned out to be Victoria anyway. (thank goodness she's gone!) I will say it again, the werewolves are protectors not big, scary monsters!

Jacob is da bomb and you know it!
(I still want an Edward though!)

And the other side speaks!

So we have a fair, but perhaps not too strong (luv u anna!) argument in favor of werewolves. But did anybody read New Moon? We have Edward, who is forced to leave when he thinks the situation is out of hand. And then we have Jacob, who assists Bella in her attempt to do dangerous things, tries to convince Bella he is better, and calls the love of her life "bloodsucker." Can we just say obnoxious.

But of course, that isn't all. In Breaking Dawn the pack decides to attack Bella just because they think she is a danger. Just because we can sympthize doesn't mean that this is the right thing for them to do. And the whole imprinting thing? Think of how many people it has hurt. Leah, for example. While she is a werewolf by the end, think of the torture. And Emily's face, because Sam has bad self control. Think of Jake, before he imprinted. The families around the imprinted one are sick of the 1 track mind. The people imprinted on may be alright with it, but what happens if that spark goes away for them? Then they'd just have a stalkerish werewolf hanging around, creeping everyone out. The parents of the people imprinted on can't be crazy about the choices by their children. Can you imagine having your 3-year-old being watched that closely by someone who looks like he's in his mid-late 20s? You'd get a restraining order in nothing flat.

Even if Jacob wasn't a jerk, and the whole imprinting thing wasn't like having a wolfy stalker, there are many other reasons that werewolves are bad. Take, for example, the beginning of New Moon, where Jacob thinks that the teenagers have joined a creepy cult. The town doesn't know what to make of this super strong connection between the teens... Embry's parents get mad at him all the time. And you have to admit, you can totally see where they get that idea. Hmmm... now we have evidence that the townspeople are frightened by the presence. And they scare of hikers/tourists that promote the economy of the small town.

Voila! A plethora of evidence that screams NO WEREWOLVES! What do you think?

As far as I can see....

As far as I can see, the whole high school thing is overrated. It's basically a lot of homework with a little drama on the side and hardly and time for *sniff* blogging. So, I decided, to heck with it, I am going to blog any way.

NOW... As was promised, Rose and I will begin our debates about werewolves (or shall we call them shape-shifters? hmmm.... I suppose we will have to settle that later). Today I Alice, will give my opening statement. FYI I am pro-werewolf/shapeshifter and Rose is con.

OPENING STATEMENT:

The bloodline that ultimately led up to Jacob Black and the pack that he considers himself a part of (we are talking of course, pre-BD currently) started with his great-grandfather Ephraim Black. As far back as I, the Cullens, and the communities of Forks are concerned, no problems began to arise with the wolves until the (non-veg) vampires showed up. Even then, the werewolves were only acting as a defense force for the mortals in the Olympic area. They call themselves protectors and protecting is what they ultimately aim to do. The only things that die when they are around are the enemies.

However much Breaking Dawn gave its readers the idea that werewolves in Sam's pack are murders, we must stop and think about the reasons and utter humanness and compassion shown on Sam's part. He only thought of his pack's and the community's safety. Does Bella not also feel vengeful and want to murder Mike or Jacob for example? And yet we do not condemn her for these feelings. On the contrary, we encourage them, telling her to be as human as possible. Is Edward one to overreact strongly? Wanting to kill Jacob for kissing Bella - a situation countless human women have been in, and yet none of their boyfriends feel like wringing the life out of someone with their bare hand. Yet, if I were to say anything negative about Edward in public, I wouldn't put it past every teenage girl in the room to attack me in various ways. Heck, I would do the same if put in their situation.

Though it did seem likely for a while that the pack would attack Bella, did they not stop when one of their own assumed his rightful role to protect the one he loved - even the one he did not yet know he loved. The answer is yes, they did stop. They acted compassionately. The werewolves are not bad. This proves it. Sam's pack outnumbered Jacobs in numerous ways, and yet they prefered to settle their differences with words. THEY DID NOT ATTACK!!
However much the violent nature that young werewolves live with is a part of their actual personalities is debatable. And that is exactly what I am here to do. Jacob is, and continues to be, the living proof that werewolves can coexist with vampires and still do their part as protectors in the community. They can do it. Werewolves are not a bad thing.

As always, I love you guys, our readers are the best,
forever, aliceCULLEN
