And so I return with a stonger rebuttal than ever!

In response to Erin's post I have these things to say (they are in chronological order parallel to her paragraphs in the post):


Um, excuse me, is New Moon not about how Jacob the werewolf helps Bella patch her life back together or am I just completely crazy? First of all, Edward DID NOT leave because of the werewolves. He left, however foolish his decision might have been, because he thought that it would be the best thing for Bella. Not because young werewolves were running rampant all over Forks! As for Jacob assisting Bella in doing dangerous things it was understandable AND acceptable! For one, he is just a normal teenage boy who knows no better - can we blame someone for something they are totally ignorant of - I think not. Two, if this were Emmett assisting Bella, no one would blame him, they would probably recruit Rosalie to help build the bikes, and it would be one big happy family that no one would think anything of. Three, Jacob is nearly the vampires equal in strength, he is smart enough to help Bella when she needs it, is a good teacher, and most importantly, has full-time access to a community of help! Dispute that Erin! By the way, Edward calls Jacob "dog", how is that different than Jacob calling Edward "bloodsucker" ?


The events that had potential to occur in Breaking Dawn DID NOT HAPPEN! Yes, they were going to go to the Cullen mansion with the idea to get rid of Bella/the Cullens, however the objectivity on Sam's and Jacob's part prevented this occurrence. Um, compassion anyone? Crisis avoided. They were able to think level-headedly and work out the situation with no one for the worse. Sure, imprinting can hurt, but think how many more people have been affected in a positive way. Emily, though disfigured, has never been more in love. Claire, the two-year-old could never have asked for better protection or love. And Renesmee is lucky enough to be able to spend all of eternity with the one she loves.


The people of Forks are really only scared of the idea something dangerous lurking in the shadows. And anyway, the thing that they were scared of turned out to be Victoria anyway. (thank goodness she's gone!) I will say it again, the werewolves are protectors not big, scary monsters!
